Eliphaz accuses job

 “Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said: “Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? Should he argue in unprofitable talk, or in words with which he can do no good? But you are doing away with the fear of God and hindering meditation before God. For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the tongue of the crafty. Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; your own lips testify against you. “Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought forth before the hills? Have you listened in the council of God? And do you limit wisdom to yourself? What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that is not clear to us? Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, older than your father. Are the comforts of God too small for you, or the word that deals gently with you? Why does your heart carry you away, and why do your eyes flash, that you turn your spirit against God and bring such words out of your mouth? What is man, that he can be pure? Or he who is born of a woman, that he can be righteous? Behold, God puts no trust in his holy ones, and the heavens are not pure in his sight; how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks injustice like water! “I will show you; hear me, and what I have seen I will declare (what wise men have told, without hiding it from their fathers, to whom alone the land was given, and no stranger passed among them). The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, through all the years that are laid up for the ruthless. Dreadful sounds are in his ears; in prosperity the destroyer will come upon him. He does not believe that he will return out of darkness, and he is marked for the sword. He wanders abroad for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that a day of darkness is ready at his hand; distress and anguish terrify him; they prevail against him, like a king ready for battle. Because he has stretched out his hand against God and defies the Almighty, running stubbornly against him with a thickly bossed shield; because he has covered his face with his fat and gathered fat upon his waist and has lived in desolate cities, in houses that none should inhabit, which were ready to become heaps of ruins; he will not be rich, and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions spread over the earth; he will not depart from darkness; the flame will dry up his shoots, and by the breath of his mouth he will depart. Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment. It will be paid in full before his time, and his branch will not be green. He will shake off his unripe grape like the vine, and cast off his blossom like the olive tree. For the company of the godless is barren, and fire consumes the tents of bribery. They conceive trouble and give birth to evil, and their womb prepares deceit.””

1เอลีฟัสชาวเทมานโต้ตอบว่า

2“ควรหรือที่คนมีปัญญาจะตอบด้วยความรู้ลมๆแล้งๆ และบรรจุลมตะวันออกที่ร้อนระอุให้เต็มท้อง?

3ควรหรือที่เขาจะโต้แย้งด้วยถ้อยคำอันไร้ประโยชน์

ด้วยวาจาซึ่งไร้ผลหรือ?

4แต่ท่านกำลังขจัดความยำเกรงเสีย

และหยุดยั้งการยอมจำนนต่อพระองค์

5เพราะความบาปชั่วช้าของท่านยุให้ปากท่านกล่าว

ท่านเลือกรับเอาลิ้นของคนเจ้าเล่ห์เพทุบาย

6ปากของท่านกล่าวโทษท่านเอง ไม่ใช่ข้าพเจ้า

และริมฝีปากของท่านปรักปรำท่านเอง

7“ท่านเป็นมนุษย์คนแรกที่เกิดมาหรือ?

หรือท่านคลอดมาก่อนที่ภูเขาถูกสร้างขึ้น?

8ท่านนั่งฟังอยู่ท่ามกลางสภาของพระเจ้าหรือ?

และท่านจำกัดสติปัญญาไว้เฉพาะตัวท่านหรือ?

9ท่านทราบอะไรที่พวกเราไม่ทราบบ้าง?

ท่านเข้าใจอะไรที่ไม่กระจ่างแก่เราเล่า

10บรรดาผู้อาวุโสและมีคนผมหงอกก็อยู่ฝ่ายเรา

คนเหล่านั้นแก่ยิ่งกว่าบิดาของท่านเสียอีก

11ท่านเห็นคำปลอบโยนจากพระเจ้าเป็นของเล็กน้อยไปหรือ?

ถ้อยคำอ่อนหวานไม่เพียงพอหรือ?

มีเรื่องลึกลับอะไรบ้างอยู่กับท่านหรือ?

12เหตุไฉนท่านจึงปล่อยตัวเตลิดไปตามใจเช่นนี้?

ทำไมตาของท่านจึงลุกเป็นไฟเล่า

13คือที่ท่านหันจิตใจของท่านต่อสู้พระเจ้า

และให้ถ้อยคำอย่างนี้พรั่งพรูออกมาจากปากของท่าน

14“มนุษย์เป็นอะไรเล่าที่จะบริสุทธิ์ได้?

ผู้ถือกำเนิดจากสตรีเป็นใครเล่าที่จะชอบธรรมได้?

15ดูเถิด พระเจ้ามิได้ทรงวางใจในวิสุทธิชนของพระองค์ ใช่แล้ว 

แม้แต่ทูตสวรรค์ ในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ ฟ้าสวรรค์ก็ยังไม่บริสุทธิ์

16แล้วมนุษย์ผู้ชั่วช้าและเสื่อมทราม

ผู้เสพความชั่วร้ายเหมือนกระหายน้ำจะน่าสะอิดสะเอียนและโสโครกยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด!

17“ฟังข้าซิ แล้วข้าจะแสดงแก่ท่าน

ถึงสิ่งที่ข้าได้เห็นมา ข้าจะกล่าว

18สิ่งที่คนมีปัญญาได้ถ่ายทอดให้กันมา ตั้งแต่บรรพบุรุษของเขา และมิได้ปิดบังไว้

19(ผู้ได้รับมอบดินแดนแต่พวกเดียว

ไม่มีคนต่างด้าวแปลกปนในหมู่พวกเขาทั้งหลาย)

20คนชั่วร้ายทนทุกข์ทรมานตลอดชีวิตของเขา ตลอดปีทั้งปวงได้ซ่อนไว้จากผู้บีบบังคับ

21เสียงข่มขวัญประดังเต็มหูของเขา

และเมื่อเหตุการณ์ดูราบรื่นดี ผู้ทำลายก็จะมาเหนือเขาในยามมั่งคั่ง

22เขาหมดหวังที่จะหนีให้พ้นความมืดมน เขาถูกหมายหัวให้เป็นเหยื่อคมดาบ

23เขาพเนจรไปเพื่อหาอาหารเหมือนแร้ง กล่าวว่า ‘อยู่ที่ไหนนะ’ เขารู้ว่าวันแห่งความมืดมนอยู่แค่เอื้อมมือ

24ความทุกข์ใจและแสนระทมจะทำให้เขาหวาดหวั่น มันจะชนะเขา เหมือนอย่างกษัตริย์เตรียมพร้อมแล้วสำหรับการศึกบุกเข้าโจมตี

25เพราะเขาได้ชูกำปั้นของเขาออกสู้พระเจ้า

และหยิ่งอหังการต่อองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ 

26เขาถือโล่หนาใหญ่ตรงเข้ามา

ร้องท้าทายพระองค์

27“แม้ว่าเขาได้คลุมหน้าของเขาด้วยความอวบอ้วนพีแล้วรวบรวมไขมันมาไว้ที่บั้นเอวของเขา

28เขาได้อาศัยอยู่ตามหัวเมืองที่ปรักหักพัง ในเรือนซึ่งไม่มีผู้อาศัย รกร้างซึ่งพร้อมจะกลายเป็นกองขยะ

29เขาจะไม่มั่งมีอีกต่อไป และทรัพย์สมบัติของเขาไม่คงอยู่ และข้าวของของเขาจะไม่ได้เพิ่มพูนขึ้นในแผ่นดิน

30เขาจะหนีจากความมืดมนไม่พ้น

เปลวเพลิงจะทำให้หน่อของเขาเหี่ยวแห้งไป

โดยลมพระโอษฐ์ของพระเจ้าพัดเขาจะต้องจากไปเสีย

31อย่าให้เขาวางใจในสิ่งที่ไร้ค่าหลอกลวงตัวเขาเองโดยความอนิจจัง เพราะจะไม่ได้อะไรตอบแทน

32ก่อนสิ้นอายุขัยเขาจะได้รับการชำระคืนสนองอย่างเต็มที่ กิ่งก้านสาขาของเขาจะไม่งอกงาม

33เขาจะเป็นประดุจเถาองุ่นที่เขย่าผลของมันร่วงกราวตั้งแต่ยังดิบ

และเป็นดังต้นมะกอกเทศที่ดอกร่วงหล่นตั้งแต่เพิ่งผลิบานของมัน

34เพราะว่าที่ชุมชนของพวกคนอธรรมนั้นจะเริศร้างไป และไฟจะเผาผลาญเต็นท์ของผู้ที่รักสินบนเสีย

35พวกเขาตั้งครรภ์ความชั่วและคลอดความร้ายออกมา และจิตใจของเขาทั้งหลายตระเตรียมการล่อลวงของตัวพวกเขาเอง>>

และใจของเขาทั้งหลายได้เตรียมอุบายไว้ล่อลวงตัวเขาเอง.”ใจของที่เต็มด้วยความหลอกลวง
